As the leading teacher of Arbitrators in Ontario, Canada since 1985, Murray Miskin is uniquely qualified to act as arbitrator for a wide range of disputes. When an arbitrator in Ontario has a legal or procedural problem it is quite common that he or she will call Murray to get advice on what to do. Well over a thousand arbitrators have been trained by Murray Miskin in Ontario. The next arbitration course begins in April 2008. He is indeed seen as the arbitrator’s arbitrator.

In his own arbitration practice Murray Miskin usually acts as sole arbitrator or chair if on a panel of three.  He has been appointed arbitrator by courts in Canada and in the United States.  He is experienced in commercial, leasing, construction, employment, property, estate and environmental arbitration.

While ADR Works Mediation for condominiums is mainly conducted by Nancy Miskin,  Murray Miskin is the person to speak with concerning condominium arbitration.  Murray is no longer mediating condominium disputes except in special circumstances and is focused on condominium arbitration.  He has been appointed by agreement of the parties and by Ontario Courts to arbitrate condominium disputes. 

With Murray Miskin as arbitrator there is no question that proper procedures are used because of his expertise in the Arbitration Act and considerable experience from 27 years as a trial lawyer and counsel in arbitration and mediation. Mr. Miskin tries to, where possible, streamline the process and ensure speedy progress towards resolution. He is very conscious of the expenses of arbitration and their impact on the parties and he tries to minimize them wherever possible and notices when a case is ripe for settlement or mediation. His own fees are quite reasonable and include the use of the Miskin Toronto facilities if desired for the Arbitration.  Call for information on hourly rates which are quoted in Canadian dollars unless the hearing proceedings take place outside of Canada.
