Nancy Miskin was a mediator with the Richmond Hill Small Claims Court pilot project during the years 2000 and 2001. Since January 2002 she has been a roster mediator for the Superior Court at Toronto. Ms. Miskin has mediated a wide variety of disputes such as landlord/tenant, condominium, contracts, collections, construction, estates and real estate disputes. She has worked with language interpreters and also with unrepresented parties. Ms. Miskin's background as a health and mental health consultant and psychotherapist gives her insight and an edge in mediation of health and disability related issues. Nancy has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science Degree from the University of Arizona's Pharmacology Department specializing in Addiction Studies. She worked for several years with chronic pain patients and with auto insurance injury cases before becoming a mediator.
Nancy Miskin has specialized training from Osgoode Hall Law School in mediation of health issues additional to her mediation training received from the Stitt, Feld firm's University of Windsor Law School program. She took advanced mediation training from Dr. Christopher Moore of Boulder, Colorado in October 2003 through the ADR Institute of Ontario. She has received additional training in civil litigation procedures and ADR through programs of the Law Society and the Ontario Bar Association. Her training and experience make her an ideal choice for mediator of health care, mental health and auto insurance injury disputes. Nancy's practical problem solving approach and finesse in facilitating resolution of disputes puts her in a special position for handling a variety of complex and difficult cases. She has been very effective in mediating complex commercial and construction disputes. Since moving to a condominium a year ago Nancy has mainly mediated condominium disputes with mediations being on site or at the Yonge Street and 401 office of Miskin Professional Corporation. In the Durham Region Nancy is well known for her skills in condominium and estate mediation which she has regularly conducted at the Durham Reporting and Mediation Services facility.

Nancy Miskin came to Canada from the USA in 1977 originally on a placement from her Master's Programme with the Addiction Research Foundation. She was then hired back by A.R.F. and then went on to become a Programme Director for the Dellcrest Children's Centre and then she was the Employee Assistance Plan Co-ordinator for Shell Oil in Ontario. She served on the Board of the Toronto Social Planning Council of which she was President. She then took a break in her career to become a mother and then began working with injured people as a therapist. She made the move to mediation after being involved with the legal issues faced by persons injured on the job and in auto accidents. Nancy became a Canadian Citizen on April 7th 2005. CITIZEN NANCY
